Tantalise your taste buds as you BITE your way through Tauranga and Mount Maunganui on this fun and interesting local foodie tour! Not only will you get to sample some amazing local foods, you will also learn about the area, its history, people and the reason Captain Cook called it the Bay of Plenty. There will be stunning countryside to see and lots of stops for photos.

After picking you up from your location of choice we can begin with a scenic drive along the stunning beach front of Mount Maunganui, location of multi-million dollar homes. The vibrant dinning scene of "The Mount" is driving a whole new range of speciality food outlets and producers, our aim is to introduce you to some of the local food heroes and learn why they decided to make this seaside destination home.

This tour includes specialty food shops, "hole in the wall" food premises and out of the way foodie venues. But its not all about the food..... as your tour winds through Tauranga and surrounds, our guides will bring you up-to-date on the natural history, the development and the culture and of the area.  We will traverse some stunning countryside and take you to scenic vantage points. It will be easy to see why this has become one of the most popular holiday destinations in New Zealand.

There will be at least 4 food tastings [often more] and these will vary depending on what is in season on the day of your tour.  You might taste local olive oils, smoked fish, kiwifruit, the best sourdough in New Zealand, speciality frozen yogurt, local cheeses, manuka honey, or kumara ... just to name a few!
